Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical expertise to inform the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the hospital’s Health Information System (HIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms.
  • Deliver comprehensive training and continuous support to healthcare staff on the effective use of health information systems, with a special focus on ICU and wound care documentation modules.
  • Develop and maintain standardized workflows and best practices for data entry, retrieval, and management to ensure data integrity and security in compliance with GOSI and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the infection control team to integrate infection surveillance protocols into the EMR system, facilitating real-time monitoring and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clinical departments and the IT department, translating user needs into technical requirements and system enhancements.
  • Participate in the selection, implementation, and customization of new health information technology solutions to meet evolving clinical needs.
  • Analyze system utilization data and user feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.
  • Ensure all clinical documentation practices align with national healthcare standards and the hospital’s quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related health informatics field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in Saudi Arabia.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of recent clinical nursing experience, with substantial experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) with valid credentials.
  • Proven expertise in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS), with experience in system configuration, training, and support.
  • Specialized knowledge and certification in wound care and infection control practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical data and translate it into actionable system requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to train diverse clinical staff effectively.
